When you drive it into your garage, you have to get out, pull the charging cord to it, then plug it in. Oh, and don’t forget to unplug it before you drive out! That would make a small mess.

Now imagine your emission free ride charging invisibly, with a wireless pad just underneath your car doing all the work, each and every time you park it in the garage. Wireless charging isn’t a brand new technology, but its validity and usefulness is being tested by Duke Energy.

Many smartphone accessory makers have already allowed consumers to wirelessly charge their devices by simply placing their phone with special cases on a wireless charging mat, and a similar process is in the works from Duke to allow consumers the equivalent at home for their Electric Cars.
