UK Women Prefer Smaller Vehicles

A recent press release from Confused.com announced that women in the United Kingdom are overwhelmingly choosing to drive smaller cars, while men still seem to prefer roomier models.

After conducting its research, Confused.com found that nine of the top ten vehicles listed by women were small cars.  Men, on the other hand, only choose small cars for half of the vehicles on the list.  Nonetheless, Ford seemed to score big with both men and women.  Namely, women choose the Ford Ka as their number one choice, while men selected the Ford Focus.  The Focus still made the list for women, however, and was the only mid-size vehicle to make the female list.

Other vehicles that made it on the women’s top ten list included the Vauxhall Corsa, Peugeot 206, Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio and the Mini Copper.  Some of the other vehicles on the top ten list for men included the Subaru Impreza WRX, Honda Civic Type-R and Turbo 2000 4WD.  Of course, this means that women save on their car insurance, as smaller vehicles tend to receive lower premiums.  Similarly, women save on fuel costs with their smaller vehicles as well.  So, while they may be giving up the flash and speed, women are likely saving money with their vehicle choices.
